Poozie News Update

Sorry we’ve been silent for a while – hibernating.

SALLY BARKER REJOINS THE POOZIES
We have some big news: since we had so much fun touring with Sally on our autumn tours last year, we all decided to go for it as a 5 piece band again! This will bring back memories of the original line up of the Poozies (with the lovely Jenny Gardner on fiddle), which those of you with long memories will remember from the BBC broadcast concerts entitled ‘The Shetland Sessions”.
So now we have the luscious singing of Sally AND the glorious fiddle of Eilidh at the same time. Onwards and upwards!

Our first date with the new line up was a concert in January, supporting Dick Gaughan at the City Halls in Glasgow during Celtic Connections. The City Halls is a great venue with its comfortable, spacious, posh bit upstairs and the street-market ambience of the Fruitmarket downstairs. We began the evening with a few old, some new, one borrowed etc. Dick performed the Handful of Earth album in its entirety and we enjoyed the privilege of joining him for a few of those classic songs. It was a brilliant gig – just one of the many great concerts on offer at the festival.
Go on Glasgow!

SO, we’re all busy with individual things at the moment – Patsy teaching at the RSAMD, Karen touring Lincolnshire village halls with, among others, the lovely John Dipper, Eilidh playing with wee Kirsty, Sally finishing a degree in music technology and Mary making music with various folk.

We’ll be touring as the Poozies in June, September and November this year. The concert information should be on our tour page, so check it out and see if we are playing near you – we’d love to see old friends and make some new ones too!
